{"id":49,"date":"2021-07-13T16:39:29","date_gmt":"2021-07-13T16:39:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hpcfusion.bsc.es\/?page_id=49"},"modified":"2022-05-17T17:17:38","modified_gmt":"2022-05-17T17:17:38","slug":"2nd-spanish-fusion-hpc-workshop-2021","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hpcfusion.bsc.es\/2021\/","title":{"rendered":"main"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">2<sup>nd<\/sup> Fusion HPC Workshop<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator aligncenter has-text-color has-background has-black-background-color has-black-color is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Dear Colleagues,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is our pleasure to host the <strong>2<sup>nd<\/sup> Fusion HPC Workshop<\/strong> as an online event with Zoom on <strong>December 2-3, 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This workshop follows the virtual <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/hpcfusion2020.bsc.es\/\" target=\"_blank\">1<sup>st<\/sup> Spanish Fusion HPC Workshop, <\/a>which took place on November 27, 2020 and attracted 183 registrations from all over the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This workshop covers all computer applications using High Performance Supercomputing (HPC) in the field of fusion research. These include, but are not limited to, numerical simulations in the following areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Energy and particle transport<\/li><li>Multi-physics modelling<\/li><li>Plasma turbulence and related transport processes<\/li><li>Plasma hydrodynamics including linear, nonlinear and\/or extended MHD<\/li><li>Plasma instabilities<\/li><li>Edge and plasma-material interactions<\/li><li>Heating, fueling and current drive<\/li><li>Laser-plasma interactions<\/li><li>Fast particle physics and burning plasma issues<\/li><li>Scenario development and control<\/li><li>Fusion reactor materials<\/li><li>Fusion reactor technology<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop is organized under the auspices of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.res.es\/en\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES)<\/a>. The language of the workshop will be in English and it will be open to all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be keynote, invited and contributed orals. The abstract submission opens on <strong>July 19, 2021<\/strong> and closes on <strong> <strong><s>September 24, 2021<\/s><\/strong> <strong>September 27, 2021 at 1pm<\/strong> <strong>CEST<\/strong> <strong>(extended deadline)<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similar to the process for last year\u00b4s <a href=\"https:\/\/iopscience.iop.org\/journal\/0741-3335\/page\/Special_Issue_High_Performance_Supercomputing_Fusion_Research_2020\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/iopscience.iop.org\/journal\/0741-3335\/page\/Special_Issue_High_Performance_Supercomputing_Fusion_Research_2020\">Special Issue in Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion journal<\/a>, selected presentations will be invited, by mutual agreement, to submit a journal paper after the workshop to a special issue published in <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/iopscience.iop.org\/journal\/0741-3335\" target=\"_blank\">Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion (IOP)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are looking forward to welcoming you to the workshop!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Fusion HPC Workshop Organization Committee<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2nd Fusion HPC Workshop Dear Colleagues, It is our pleasure to host the 2nd Fusion HPC Workshop as an online event with Zoom on December 2-3, 2021.
