{"id":49,"date":"2021-07-13T16:39:29","date_gmt":"2021-07-13T16:39:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hpcfusion.bsc.es\/?page_id=49"},"modified":"2026-03-09T11:46:21","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T09:46:21","slug":"2nd-spanish-fusion-hpc-workshop-2021","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hpcfusion.bsc.es\/2026\/","title":{"rendered":"main"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\">6<sup>th<\/sup> Fusion HPC Workshop<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-black-color has-css-opacity has-black-background-color has-background aligncenter is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>We are pleased to announce the <strong>winners<\/strong> of this year\u2019s awards at the 6th Fusion HPC Workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Outstanding Presentations by Early Career Scientists<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Edoardo Carr\u00e0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Giorgio Daneri<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Niccol\u00f2 Di Eugenio<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-f886d54a1ac5f9df681a71083f070b88\" style=\"color:#c83232\"><strong>Winner of the Best Talk \u2013 Voted by Popular Choice<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Foteini Litovoli<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations for your good work!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-contrast-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-contrast-background-color has-background\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Dear Colleagues,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is our pleasure to host the <strong>6<sup>th<\/sup> Fusion HPC Workshop<\/strong> as an online event <strong>on <strong>February 24-25, 2026<\/strong>.<br><\/strong><br>This workshop follows the virtual <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/hpcfusion.bsc.es\/2024\/\">5th Fusion HPC Workshop<\/a><\/strong>, which took place on<strong> November 21-22, 2024<\/strong>, and attracted more than 300 participants around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event will cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Energy and particle transport&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multi-physics modelling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plasma turbulence and related transport processes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plasma hydrodynamics including linear, nonlinear and\/or extended MHD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plasma instabilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Edge and plasma-material interactions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heating, fuelling and current drive<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Laser-plasma interactions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fast particle physics and burning plasma issues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scenario development and control<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fusion reactor materials<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fusion reactor technology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop will be held in English and is <strong>open to all<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be keynote, invited and contributed presentations. The<strong> <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/us06web.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/zpX5HGSSQgW3bLPFyFUTcw#\/registration\"><strong>registration<\/strong><\/a> is free and currently open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants at the Fusion HPC Workshop will gain a broad understanding of the status of fusion HPC research internationally by attending presentations by leading researchers on a broad range of topics. Question and answer sessions will follow presentations with the option to either write or use the microphone to ask questions.
