7th Fusion HPC Workshop
Dear Colleagues,
It is our pleasure to host the 7th Fusion HPC Workshop as an online event on February 23-24, 2027.
This workshop follows the virtual 6th Fusion HPC Workshop, which took place on February 24-25, 2026, and attracted more than 500 participants around the world.
The event will cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:
- Energy and particle transport
- Multi-physics modelling
- Plasma turbulence and related transport processes
- Plasma hydrodynamics including linear, nonlinear and/or extended MHD
- Plasma instabilities
- Edge and plasma-material interactions
- Heating, fuelling and current drive
- Laser-plasma interactions
- Fast particle physics and burning plasma issues
- Scenario development and control
- Fusion reactor materials
- Fusion reactor technology
The workshop will be conducted in English and is open to all. The programme will feature keynote, invited, and contributed presentations, offering attendees a comprehensive overview of the current state of fusion HPC research worldwide.
Once again, early career scientists will have the opportunity to receive feedback from expert reviewers and be recognised for outstanding presentations. Additionally, following the model established in previous editions, selected contributions will be invited — by mutual agreement — to submit a manuscript to a Special Issue of Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion (IOP) following the workshop.
Save the date and stay tuned:
The abstract submission will open on September 15, 2026 — more details coming soon!
We look forward to welcoming you to another exciting edition of the Fusion HPC Workshop!
